The AMMF in the Tamale Diocese comprising Tamale , Bolgatanga and Wa Missions, held its 5th Annual General Meeting [ AGM] from Friday 15th to Sunday 17th February 2019 at the Wa Paul Adu Cathedral under the Fellowship’s theme, ‘Go and make disciples of all nations, Intensifying our teaching in the Men’s Ministry towards Disciple making.’
The Resource persons who steered the AGM were;
Very Rev. Francis Sabiga, Tamale Diocesan Chaplain
Bro. Hayford Asare- Bekoe, Immediate Past Connexional Chairman
Bro. Tetteh Carboo, Assistant Connexional PRO
Also present was the host Minister of the Rev. Paul Adu Methodist Church, Wa, Very Rev. Amos Kyere , the Bishop’s Deputy of the Tamale Diocese.
In his keynote address on the Official opening, Very Rev. Kyere challenged the Men’s Fellowship to reach out to all the men in the Church to come to join the Fellowship. One sure way to make the theme meaningful he said, was lifestyle changes of members. He wondered why the men are so difficult to organise and why there appears to be a lot of indiscipline characterized in the non enforcement of the Fellowship’s bye laws. He especially cited the wearing of wrong uniforms when the fellowship members turnout but functions as juxtaposed with members of The Women’s Fellowship, SUWMA, or the Christ’s Little Band.
Both the Diocesan Chaplain and the Bishop Deputy coincidentally asked the men to be more forthright in evangelizing with our lifestyle and to be emboldened to weed out the few bad nuts in our ranks. As part of the AGM, the following members were elected to steer the affairs of the Diocesan Men’s Fellowship for the ensuing year.
Bro. Prof. Albert K. Quainoo -Chairman
Bro. Lawrence Acquah – Vice Chairman
Bro. Isaac Gibberson Dukuh – Secretary
Bro. Michael Gogo – Treasurer
Bro. Charles Kwakye Asiam – PRO
Bro. Paul Dartey – Assistant Secretary
Bro. Christopher Dadzie – Assistant Treasurer
Bro. William Anim Dankwah – Honorary Chaplain
At the end of the AGM, it was clear that the task of the Men’s Fellowship in roping in men for God’s work is enormous. It is like ‘the harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few ‘ [Matt 9; 35-38]. So as MHB 585 says, the clarion call is ‘Rise up, O Men of God……….’
